Faren Bachelis is a writer and photographer living in the Pacific Northwest. She is the author of three books, including The Pelican Guide to Sacramento and the Gold Country. Her work has appeared in The Seattle Times, The Sacramento Bee, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Spindrift Art and Literary Journal, and We Came Back to Say: A Collection of Memoir. Faren earned a certificate in memoir at the University of Washington in 2011. Her story “Only Happiness” earned an Honorable Mention in Glimmer Train’s May 2012 Short Story Award for New Writers.
